Paradise Poker

ParadisePoker.com
ParadisePoker is part of Sportingbet PLC which together have formed the world's largest online betting company. Their random card shuffling is validated by PriceWaterhouseCoopers on a quarterly basis and they post the certificates for their players to view. Offering online poker since 1999, they're one of the oldest and most respected poker sites.

Getting Started(Go to the Paradise Poker Site)
In order to play on Paradise, you'll need to download and install their software. The process is quite simple and the installer walks you through the process. Once installed, you need to create an account. Money can be deposited through a variety of methods if you choose to play with real money. A current listing of these methods can be found on their website.

Gameplay
Graphics are very sharp and attractive although the table simply shows the names of the players - not graphics of people sitting at the seats. The player has the option of selecting a "4 Color Deck" which allows people who have visual limitations better see the cards as each suit is a different color. Players can order virtual drinks and eat virtual food in between hands which is cute, but does nothing to enhance game play.

Over a cable-modem connection, speed is most always decent. Wait times do occur whenever other players are slow to react although the system warns someone if they're going to slow and will fold their hand if they don't react in time. Network issues do appear to affect speed at times too but these delays are minimal and often not noticeable. On the login screen, there is a button which will take you to the network status screen so that you can see if there have been any issues which can affect play.

I will tell u this for free, having played at PP for 2 years now, the site IS just rediculous as far as probability goes. No way should so many hands end in tears. I know of so many guys who are disgruntled by what happens on that site.

I believe the site IS rigged. Having said that, I won a tournament and about US$1350 in doing so, but it was obvious the program had 'chosen me for greatness' from the beginning. I couldnt lose. I would see the flop with 8 5 off and flop the straight. No one stood a chance, and I hit hand after hand.

I have not had a similar experience with luck in that way again. The site is bogus as opposed to random. The casino games are even worse. I've lost 3 grand on roulette cos that thing KNOWS WHAT YOU'VE BET and HOW MUCH, and when it wants it, it takes it. Problem is they at paradise didnt know how easy it was to win money on roulette at one stage. I was taking them for over $100 a night every night. Then all of a sudden - IT CHANGED. I do not believe I simply had a good run of luck or chose the right bets at the right time. But I am disgusted at the way the wheel laughs at the laws of probability.

From now on, only using live wheels that dont know what I my betting pattern are. Stay away from these games. You have been warned.

Why cant you ring these filthy jew pimps???? My account has been suspended and theres still $100 US in the damn thing...
I cannot get any reply from these odious roaches.
I want to know where my money is. Also who knows what these sites do, as noone sees the code. They could have players in their offices with special options in their client package that can see everybodies cards. Look when theres a lot of cash and humanity there is always theft and shiftiness. ALWAYS!!!!!!!! Theres so much EASY cash floating in their accounts, and they are all offshore so that they dont pay taxes, and well, does anyone audit these gangster jew pimps???? Arthur Andersen perhaps.
World War Three will be started by the GREED of the AmericAn JEW!
You heard it here first............

  There's something going on here!

I've played on PP off and on for a month or so. I only play Draw or 5 card stud so I can't comment on anything other than those two games. I've been on the winning side and the losing side of the table and regardless of which side I'm on, something just isn't right here. It's not constant but when it's on, it's quite apparent that something isn't right. I'll explain, but these are only a couple of recent examples of what I've been seeing, off and on, for a month now.

I was playing draw the other night and the player to my right was winning everything. He couldnt be dealt a bad hand and the draws were even better. After dropping about 70 bucks real quick I was about ready to leave. Then the player beats my full house with 4 K's. It was NOT my night. I left to play another game. I Returned a little while later and boom! Man I was on fire. Trips, trips, natural straight, natural flush, draw to inside straight, draw aces to trip kings, more trips, more straights. And then I started thinking, nobody is this lucky...and sure as hell not me! I actually started feeling bad for the other players although by that point i'd probably cleaned out the table twice.

The next day I'm at this table and one guy draws trip aces to a pair of 2's. Another guy says "hell of a draw". I asked him if he was playing the night before. He had and he noticed the same thing I just described.

I go back a couple days later and I'm sitting at a 5 card table. When I got there waiting to join the game this guy wins the hand with trip 4's. Nothing too unusual. I join, dealt a J down, first card a J and I won the hand. Next hand the guy that had won the first with trip 4's, wins with trip 5's, then trip 2's. Someone else wins a hand then someone else, then I have a pair of Q's. The first guy beats me with trip 4's. Next I get a pair of K's. I'm gonna win this one. He beats me with trip 5's! I left.

I'm not a statistical whiz but doing just a little research tells me that the occurances I've seen, as often as I've seen them, aren't probable. Even on my own hot streaks...or more like, ESPECIALLY on my own streaks!

A couple hours later I went back and thought, I'm just going to watch. Same guy is there with mostly new other players. The first hand I watch he wins with trip 4's. Next hand, trip 5's. And after a few more hands I'm thinking this is almost a replay of what I was watching when I was here 2 hours ago. I thought I was in that StarTrek episode where they're caught in the temporal loop!

Another thing I've noticed are these "transient" players who pop in, pick up 200, 300, 500 bucks and they're gone...in about 20 minutes!

Not this might all be my imagination but, to be honest, I don't have a very vivid imagination. It just seems there's something very strange going on at this place and whether winning or losing, i'm not comfortable playing there anymore.

Oh, one other thing...if you do want to go play there, it's the lower right hand seat (C) that is the hot one (see below). There's some variation and some differences in table configuarations but "C" seems to be where it's at most often.

F A

E B

D C

If anyone else has noticed any of this I'd be interested in hearing about it. I really liked playing and I don't have any experience with other sites and, sadly, now I'm reluctant to try.

  New upgrade closes accounts

:

'Let me recommend of a member of over 30 online poker rooms, that I STRONGLY recommend not using Paradise Poker anymore. I am suggesting a complete withdrawal of funds and boycott by all. Paradise Poker has put a new upgrade in place, that blocks all users that has firewalls, and suspends their accounts immediately. If you have friends that come over to your house to play online poker on your computer, and their system had the firewalls in place, your account will also be suspended. Let me explain. My friend 'peedware' on Paradise Poker, who has multiple purchases on Paradise Poker, had his account permanently suspended after submitting the new upgrade to his computer...the reason 'firewalls'. Peedware in turn wanted to play, so came to my house after work and we were planning on a buy-in and poker playing experience from my computer. Once we attempted to log in to paradise poker through his name, they permanently suspended my account 'duskandjim'. They offer no valid replies to why this happened, and refuse to give me a contact phone number to speak to a manager of their site. Does paradise poker even have a phone number, or is it a skeleton company, that is taking deposits, and not allowing it's customers any access to speaking to a person 1 to 1 if their is an issue? Honestly, through e-mails, you could be talking to an 11 yr. old boy, collecting all your bank information. Paradise poker will no longer even reply to my e-mails. Now understand, players of the world...I have 10's of thousands of dollars that has been in action in Paradise Poker in my over 3 year history with the site. I have personally got nearly 20 players to play on it's site. I have over 3300 player points since the year began, which means I'm well over 3000 hands for the year alone. This is the answer's I get from them? 'We no longer care to discuss this matter'? Have they even discussed it....No, because they refuse to give me a contact number, or even contact me. I have thought in the past, that their customer service was lacking and very arrogant, but this is the straw that broke the camels back'. So, everyone who reads this, A: DO NOT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE THE NEW UPGRADE, IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY, AND B: I SUGGEST A COMPLETE BOYCOTT UNTIL THEY FIX ALL SOFTWARE ISSUES. I recommend Party Poker to all, due to great customer service, quickness in response time, and multiple bonuses.
