Gambling on Cruise Ships

When you're on a cruise and you don't like the casino, how many other choices do you have? Zero. Cruise ships don't have to give you anything to play with them. And therefore, they don't. I've been on a few cruises, have won a lot and have lost some. But no matter what cruise line it has been or how my luck has been, they don't issue comps! The best I ever did was to convince the pit boss to buy me a drink. Even doing this, you'd think I had asked him to comp me the entire vacation!

But here's a tip that most people don't know about cruise ship gambling. You can take the cash that you win to the purser's desk and ask them to deposit it onto your on-board charge account. It's the same thing as paying your credit card bill! On one cruise, at the end of the trip where everyone was getting an itemized bill slid under their cabin door, I received an itemized bill for all of my expenses such as shore excursions, cocktails, wine, souvenirs, AND a check. I had won enough money to more than pay for my expenses so they stapled a check to the bill! I may never be so lucky again but trust me, if you can make this happen, it is the best feeling at the end of an expensive vacation!
