There are many better casinos to try your luck. Sams needs updateing
The entire casino industry seems to be changeing. No longer do we here the clanging of casino tokens dropping out of the machines like gold, but something much worse. Paper money.Thats right Paper money. And you get to use this fun money from machine to machine. No longer are the days of playing 2 or 3 machines at a time. These high tech computer machines have taken the fun out of slot play,as a cost saving method to the casinos, saving thousands of dollars in tokens and cash counting machines a year. Gone are a lot of extra change cages,as well as tips are down for employees as much as 60 percent.
But the casinos have tried to help them recoup their loss by letting them pay 80.00 to get a permit from the gaming commision to make change. But how do you make change out of a 330 dollar paper play dollar. Not me,im not giving 330 dollars for a waitress to make change, and then bring it all back in 33,10 dollar bills.Casinos are spending more in high tech gadgetry and less on updating properties. Doing a little research, haveing hit about every casino from Los angeles (yes L.A. has a casino) pass the indian casinos in the west to North carolina, and even to puerto rico.I checked a few of the casinos in our area partiularly Tunica.
Yes the modern day gadgets are their but the properties are suffering. The best Im rateing the grands two hotels and casino number one, although ive only one a few thousand there at the most on a good night. I will rate the gold strike number two,but the casino may as well be in the lobby of the Peabody. But the worst casino that has fallen way below my expectations would have to be the Sams Town Casino. My money could probably have been better spent at the Rebel inn on Lamar.
My luxurious accomadations came complete with 1980s decors a bathtub of spiders in the am,i did locate the nest behind the bathroom door.As with most casinos there are many elderly old blue haired ladies usually dessed in pearls with their fanny packs in tow. Im going to assume Sams town may have offered free black t-shirts to many of the elderly from nuseing homes to trailer parks, anyone over 80 was welcome, just bring the elastic waist ban jeans and the black t-shirt,and your ready to gamble that pension check away.
No longer were the nice restaurants that once donned the hotel on both floors, but Germantown news has voted them the best buffett for the last two year and running. I assume all the classy diners in gtown have up and moved away or the poor reporter has never made it past a picadilly. But I admit they appear to be on the move on the minority hireing which is good to see. I never saw one caucasion working the huge check in or check out area,or working the cages, and working the keno boards barking out the numbers. Im glad I can still read the boards.
So i think this weekend im going to drop a few hundred more in my portfolio and buy more Southwest or Sirrus stock,Kick back with a good warm beer and watch cops on Saturday night. Now thats some actions

HOTEL ROOMS
Sam's Town Tunica is great. I stayed here about 3 months ago and would just like to tell you about my experience. Well first of all I reserved a room (I can't tell you the room number because to me it was considered the BEST, and I don't want too many others to get into this special selection). The buffet was excellent but for breakfast, there were gnats all over the pastries (doughnuts and such). When you arrive you will be greeted warmly and while departing you WILL cry.

This hotel was great. YOu certainly had to pay for internet, which is the biggest disappointment, but overrall it went well. I did however request a non-smoking room and got a smoking one, but you could not smell the smoke in the room. The bathroom was gorgeous and very spacious.
