Is there a health department in LV. This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever seen...worse than the time my buddies and i were stranded in Tijuana. This hotel is worth about 3 pesos. Cockroaches, mold, plugged toilets and rude employees is how I summarize the san remo/hooters.

The rooms are crap considering what you have to pay. In our room the TV did not work, there was no hair dryer, there were no extra pillows/blankets, the airco did not work properly.
My advice: Stay away from San Remo, it is a real bad deal !!!!

I would sooner get food poisoning and a migraine headache at the same time then ever stay here again! The whole hotel is depressing. If you are so poor or have so little pride that you do end up staying here, don't bring a camera because your friends and family won't want to see the pictures. PEOPLE! Pay the extra $10 a night for a better hotel...you won't regret it. What a cess pool. The whole area stunk like a construction site porta potty in the hot Vegas sun

Stopped at the San Remo recently with a group to try the $4.95 prime rib dinner they advertise. The dinner was worth the money but everything else about the place is crap. The casino is small, dark, smoky and is in need of a major overhaul. There's nothing nice about this place. As far as the meal goes, the prime rib was large and good. Not great, but good. The salad was lettuce with 1 sliver of purple cabbage and maybe 1 tomato. The bread that came with the meal was the worst bread I ever tasted. It was yellow (?) and had a very weird, gross taste and texture. If you're just going to eat the meat, it's worth the money. If you're expecting a good meal overall, you might be disappointed.

This hotel is crap. It was dirty and had ants, crickets, and roaches (yes, we saw at least one of each). I chose it for the location, but it really isn't that great--it's still a good walk from the REAL hotels. Our rate was $29 a night. Trust me, people, spend the extra $10 a night and stay at the Trop. Better still, stay at the Stratosphere. People say the Stratosphere is in a bad neighborhood, but it's really not, and anyway, nothing could be worse than what's in the San Remo. When we got to our room after check-in, there was a huge pile of dirty towels and glasses on the floor just inside the door! The entire hotel is just a sh*thole. The hotel itself is old, the clientele is just as gross, and the whole place needs to be imploded. It's worth it to spend that extra $ ANYWHERE else but at this hotel.

This place is a dump! When I booked it was a 2 star, The room had crickets, and I saw roaches in the hall. Housekeeping CALLED me, because I had the do not disturb sign out. The front desk clerk did not speak english very well, so I was not able to make any requests.

Love the hotel. We have a waitress that always serves us named Florence. She is the nicest person I have ever met. The Hotel is run very professionally and everyone that works there goes out of their way for you.

We just visited San Remo (May 3-5, 2002). We chartered a bus and took 50 friends & Family with us. Both nights we were there our intentions were to visit the big fancy hotels, and we would end up at San Remo every time. The casino is small, BUT I can honestly say we had the BEST time. At all the other casinos I lost my money, and @ the San Remo my husband and I won $700.00 on Let-it-ride and crap table. The dealers are personable and very friendly, by the second night there they knew us and we called them by their first name. I enjoy tipping them when they enjoy your company as much as you enjoy being there. (Oleg & Lee) were very friendly and helpful!! My personal experience was very positive and I would recommend them to anyone! The price and location is very convenient!

Stayed at the San Remo based on their proximity to the strip and decent outward

appearance. The first major criticism is the lack of a jacuzzi spa in the pool

area. That was a major disappointment after a long drive from SoCal. I also

found the staff mostly indifferent and the front lounge area depressingly banal.

Having said all that, it is in a prime location and we were able to easily

walk to the great nearby casinos (Tropicana, NY NY, MGM and Excalibur/Luxor).

Next time will try and get a room at the Trop. For 14.00 more, its worth the

difference.

I was looking for a place to stay for six days that was close to the strip at a good price. I don't usually stay at expensive resorts. I looked around and read many reviews. I looked on "discount" web sites at rates and found San Remo to be cheap but in a good location. I went to the hotel's web site and the prices were even cheaper. I reserved six nights for $29 a night. I'll start with the advantages..... For the price you can't beat the location. Its an easy block away from the strip. The tram at the Excalibur will take you to Mandalay Bay and the Luxor. The Tropicanna is Right next door. The room was old but clean and maid service was respectful of my privacy. They still got to my room every day even if they had to skip it at first. They do have a small pool outside that was family friendly.

As for the cons.....with the exception of the maid service I didn't feel there was any service. It was immediately obvious that the bell hop was worthless so I didn't even bother. The bartender in the casino downstairs acted like it was such a pain that you walked up to his empty bar to order a drink. I didn't gamble here so I can't realy critique the tables. The coffe shop that they advertise as open 24 hours was closed every time I checked. The single person they had on stage for live entertainment....we won't even go there. The gift shop wants $1.75 for a 250ml bottle of water.

Looking at other prices I believe I got what I paid for. If you save staying at the San Remo thats more money to go to the strip just a block away.

i dont see whats the problem with this casino? whatever happened to vintage being hip? stayed here once and found it to be fine and im from LosAngeles so i am not super enthralled by Vegas since its only 4hours away. maybe im just not too picky, the casino is small but the prices are very right. its directly across from MGM Grand and a few other major casinos so if you just have to be part of the scene its right there an easy walk away. it is very easy to get in and out of no large crowds to deal with. i liked it. for the price i was happy, its old but old is cool and it didnt have even one screaming kid in a stroller.

I take back everything in my previous entry from last year. Came back to Remo in this past July. Got to our room and it hadn't been cleaned. I cant even explain the mess found in the bathroom. Took almost an hour to be moved to another room. This hotel needs an enema. Definitely pay a couple extra dollars and stay at the Trop or Excalibur!!!! Gambled for 5 days. Lost 3G's (no big deal) but gave about 5 hours a day at the tables. Asked to be comped for a meal fro my party and had to speak to the Manager and then get an explanation that their system didn't show me to be qualified for 4 meals. I went to the RIO and spent $190 at the American Grille and dont regret a cent. Needless to say I will never go back. If your looking for a classless, trailer trash, dirty casino with no redeeming qualities than this place would still be below your expectations!!!!!!

HOTEL SAN REMO IS IN THE PERFECT LOCATION AND IT HAS THE PERFECT CROWD. THE MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT IS LIVELY AND YET RELAXING. THE SUITE MY SPOUSE AND I STAYED IN WAS VERY SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE WITH A GREAT VIEW. MY SPOUSE AND I HAVE STAYED AT HOTEL SAN REMO TWICE AND MORE THAN LIKELY STAY THERE A THIRD TIME.

I stayed here for the fourth of July weekend. I did a lot of gambling, which I recieved some comp meals from the pit bosses. The one bad thing was, on the second day I got the famous prime rib sandwich and ended up spending the night in my bed with food poisoning, or a least that was my diagnosis. The hotel was cheap and you will be able to tell why once you visit the surrounding hotels. This was my first visit to Las Vegas and won't be the last, but will be the last at the San Remo. If you are a first timer and are looking to save some money on a hotel I would reccommend the San Remo, but stay away from there food. Spend the money you save on the room for some finer cuisine at a different hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. You got to know the dealers on a first name basis and everyone made the service they provided a priority. Also home of the hottest Roulette tables I played in Vegas. The only casino I walked away with money in my pockets. I cant imagine any reason to pay 3 or 4 times the price at a non-personal megaresort ever again.

We visit Las Vegas once or twice per year and although we have never stayed at San Remo we NEVER miss the prime rib dinner shortly after the airplane touches the ground. It's so good that our 5 year old always asks if we can go there to eat the prime rib. Stop by and try it out. You will be glad you did.

Although the front desk staff were friendly, the balcony door lock was broken and when we called to have someone fix it, no one showed up. The bathroom door wouldn't close, which was not as big a deal as the broken balcony door lock. Considering the price, even though the hotel is old and definitely needs updating, it is a economical place to stay. Pool area is beautiful! You get what you pay for!
