 Nice Hotel, However Slots Are Tight
We had no problems with our room, it was clean & the toilet did not clog. What made our stay a bad one was the casino: the slot machines don't pay anything! Very tight. Hotel is very nice but we would not stay here again because of the lousy gambling.

 i stayed at this casino this yr 03/08/05 had a great time first time to vegas and would go back in a heart beat. service great rooms clean and well kept. great location for getting a round not to far from any where. food great in the buffet .

The Monte Carlo is basically a hotel with a casino in it. There are not any amenities and certainly not a hotel to take the family to. Better value and more enjoyment across the street at MGM.

This hotel is a good hotel. It is family friendly and the pools are great. It has 4 pools, one being a wave pool and another a river type pool. Problem is that the pools get leaves and such in them from the trees around them and seem dirty sometimes. The lazy river pool is around 3 feet deep, so if your tall and not swiming I suggest your bring/rent a floatation tube. The wave pool is a little deeper around 5 feet ( i think) with waves deeper at the deep end, it is enough. The golf concierge at the front was helpfull picking golf courses. I went to Desert Rose Golf (18 Holes) course which I do not recommend because it is a long ride from the strip and also looked like a great golf course with little eye candy such as ponds, and trees. It had a semi river running through it but was filled with garbage. I did like going to the Callaway Golf Center ( 9 Holes) and it was down the block near the airport and that was a great course.
What I did not like about the rooms was that it lacked a safe, microwave oven, or a fridge. While most other casinos offer such things, Monte Carlo does not. The casino was decent, but not very entertaining.

 This review is for the buffet only. Had dinner buffet, about $16.00, hardly no wait, paid and was seated quickly by a friendly hostess. The dinning room was nicely decorated and clean. The drink service was ok. The buffet area was sloppy and not as clean as I would have liked it to be. It was a small buffet, most of the food I tasted was bad, well I mean it did not taste good, I did not get sick or anything like that, it was just not good, I found maybe one thing that I liked the rest, including the dessert bar was just not good, I took one bite of everything and yuck, left the plate full and pushed it a side, not like the other buffets I have tried, I will not eat there again and really do not suggest that you do either, you can try it but for dinner, not worth it, spend the money on the Aladdin, or even Luxor buffet instead, these 2 buffets were fine. Skip this one, trust me.

1st visit to L.V. went as a surprise for my 40th birthday evrything about the trip was great. Hotel room was excellent, plenty of room and view was splendid.
Had one meal in the hotel which was fine. Pub in the hotel and entertainment was great. Great location central for other hotels. We are definitely going to stay here again when we come with 4 of our friends

Check in was fast on a Monday, room ready at noon although they say checkin is at three. Had the lunch buffet, horrible, not one thing was edible and the waitress was a surly old woman who scoffed when we wanted a couple of beers. Geeze, I thought , can it get any worse than this? It did. Our room had numerous problems. The faucet in the bathrrom was broken and came off everytime I turned it on. The dresser/armoir that the very small tv is in was broken so that the drawers below would never shut, they would roll open everytime you pushed them in. I had to wedge 2 matchbooks in just to keep it closed. The carpet was filthy, they don't seem to vaccuum near the basebords at all and there was a dirty kleenex on the floor near the bed when we arrived. Ick! The pool is nice, very enjoyable, as was the cafe where our waitress was superb. The brew-pub is fine, though no reason to stay there just for that. Now, my major complaint: RUDE BLACKJACK DEALERS. Find one you like, walk away immediatly if you get an attitude from one of the bad ones. Two different dealers were scooping up chips on pushes, had to be told to put them back. At another table I was counting up a hand of many aces and low cards, and the dealer mumbled something in a heavely accented voice. I thought he was saying "Deal?" I asked for another second to count them up and was berated in front of the table, "I told you 12 you idiot, what, you don't believe me? You cannot count to twelve?" Well, this is completely unacceptable. I should have complained to a pit boss, but since it was my first day there I didn't want to make any trouble. Another dealer was so fast in his deals that as I went to add another chip to my bet he ripped the first card out of the shoe without even checking to see if all bets were placed. He backhanded my chips off the table, threatened me with being handcuffed and taken away to jail for "capping the chips"! Again, unacceptable. I apologized for my late bet and was made to feel about an inch tall in front of a full table. I am not a professional gambler, in fact this was my fist time playing blackjack in a casino. I know basic stratagy and walked away even, but I doubt I will ever sit at a table in the MC again.

Hotel is in good location. Spend a couple of thousand on slots. No Comps. At the Tropicana we always get free rooms, but we wanted to stay at somewhere different. But as I said location is great.

I took my father (in his eighties) to Las Vegas as a splurge. This review is of the Monte Carlo casino only, since were did not stay at their hotel. I don't mind spending money; we stayed at the Venetian (splendid) and ate at 5 star restaurants, but in gambling, I frankly cannot see flushing money away at more than 5 dollars a pop. For all LESS-THAN-HIGH ROLLERS the Monte Carlo is simply the best place to gamble on the strip.
The ambiance is as good as any of the fancier places and they actually have five dollar blackjack. The only other five dollar tables I could find after hiking the whole strip were stinking fast-food and tabacco smoke filled pits like Casino Royale or the Imperial Palace. This is a disgrace!
The dealers are as professional and decent as back at the Venetian.
That said, I remind you that the word "professional" here is comparative. I have experienced stone-faced mechanical mute table crews elsewhere and the Monte Carlo was no exception. About 40% at MC seemed to be merely going through the motions. About 25% were pleasant, funny, and charming. One was down-right nasty and rude. Not only that the pit boss came over and spent nearly 30 minutes talking to her about her family problems WHILE SHE WAS DEALING. Next, the 5 dollar tables were always crowded and people were standing around waiting to get in. Meanwhile five 10 dollar dealers were unoccupied. Wouldn't a casino rather have five dollar betters playing than paying dealers to stand an do nothing? Go figure.
All that said, Monte Carlo was still the best place on the entire strip for those who like playing but don't like flushing money away. The casino deserves high praise for the service they provide. They just need to teach a couple of their pit crews some manners.

Stayed at the Monte Carlo for a week. The regular rooms are not luxurious by any means but we paid only $49 per night to stay smack in the middle of the strip and in all fairness spent very little time in the room anyway. I don't recommend spending a lot for a fancy room in Vegas as your money is better spent on gambling, dining, and entertainment. You don't go to Vegas to sit in a room!
Checkin is located right where the cab/limo will drop you off from the airport and was a breeze. The elevators are right near the checkin as is the casino entrance. Highly recommended for anyone that has limited mobility as you will not have to walk the Bataan death march through the casino from the checkin to get the elevators as you do at other Hotels. Very well thought out placement by the designer.
The service was excellent at the Monte Carlo and even at the nickle machines the waitresses came by frequently. Hey, if you tip 'em they always come back and it is the right thing to do. Played only the slots and did extremely well as we hit 7 local progressive jackpots overall. 4 on the dollars, 2 on the quarters, and one on the $5 dollar slots.
Since one Casino entrance is at the Strip side it is bit of a walk to get outside to the street but if you are taking the monorail it is not far from the elevators.
Highly recommend the Monte Carlo for price, location, and convenience.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Right near the middle of the strip. And the location of the parking area, lobby, elevator, and casino is very convenient.

This hotel is a good combination of luxury and price. While it's not as opulent as Belagio or Mandalay Bay you get a very nice room for a respectable price. The location is great too.

The magic show with Lance Burton was great. The buffet at the Monte Carlo was one of the worst I've ever had in Las Vegas, in spite of the fact that it was one of the most expensive ones I've had. The meat was dry and the vegetables pure mush, and the desserts all old and dried up. Very disappointing. Otherwise the hotel was OK.

Stayed at Monte Carlo 4/01-4/04.Arrived around 5 p.m., no line at all, upgraded to Monacco suite, no problem and well worth the extra money. This was our first time to LV,so can't compare to other hotels. Hotel was laid out well,but pool area not as big as I hoped for,also closed early(5 p.m.). Lots of choices for eating. Ate every morning in The Cafe. Get there before 8 a.m. and you won't have to wait in line. Had a great steak in the Monte Carlo Pub & Brewery! We're not big gamblers but did like the wheel of fortune slots, won on our last day!
Great view of MGM from the 29th floor. It was quiet at night in the halls, and no beefs about housekeeping at all! Will definetly go back to Vegas SOON, but will probably stay elsewhere just to experience other hotels.

Everyone working at the Monte Carlo Made our stay great. We spent a little money in the casino. The room was fine, not any better than a Holiday Inn. Food in the buffet was ok. Better selection at the Excaliber. It was our second time there because we met family there. As a place to sleep a few hours a night, not bad. To be at a hotel where you get a good buffet and attractions, try the Rio.

The hotel and staff were very nice. Sadly, however, I got ripped off by their phone company. $54 for 17 minutes on 4 long distance calls. That's $3.18 per minute. To add insult, while the hotel has chosen this carrier, they refused to accept any responsibility for the charges. Their resolve was to give me an upgrade the next time I stay there. Sorry, Monte Carlo ... There won't be a next time! If you choose this hotel for your stay, make sure you use the pay phones downstairs and make sure you get connected to a reputable long distance carrier.

My wife and I needed a much deserved get-away. From the time we landed in Las Vegas, my goal was to remove the stress from my wife. The Monte Carlo staff was very accomodating. Our suite had the most beautiful view of the strip.
My wife took advantage of the Hair and Nail salon inside the resort, the women took care of her needs and got her ready for the nightlife. She looked great!
We met Steve, the liquor and bar manager and he shared with us his vast knowlege of the different Brandy grades. I became fond of the cognac on the rocks. If your staying at the resort, you must see "Lance Burton" and his magic show. It's a must. The casino staff is very personable, they remembered and greeted us each of the 6 nights that we played there. My wife did so well that she found a beautiful pair of leather pants in one of their shops. They hemmed them for her that night and called our room when they were ready.
