  25 years visiting the sands
my wife and i have been going to the sands since opening day 9/13/80 and
always returned. returng to play on 3/17/2006. we were friends of the doormen
up to the top executives and this was because we were NICE.

it pays to be NICE and you get a litlle more if you are. we have enjoyed
our time spent in the sands and believe anyone visiting there will enjoy
if you give it a chance and not demand things. this will bring things faster.

the employees are just like you and wish to be treated with respect--that is
sometimes hard but try to give them respect.

we have stayed at other casinos through former sands hosts but we never
enjoyed ourselves like we did at the sands. find a casino and stick with it
and you will get comps as lonmg as you play and are loyal.

For a number of years my husband and I have gone to the Sands at least 4 or 5 times a year. Even after a terrible 2 nights at the Madison House we returned. At one time we had a "Host" who was very nice but we had some medical problems and didn't get to the Sands for about 9 months. Well we were told we don't have enough activity on our cards for a "Host". On Nov 12 as birthday gift to our friend we brought her and her husband to the Sands for a day of fun, buffet, and the show to see Joe Piscapo. I tried to get a room 2 weeks prior but was told they were booked for 11/12,so we just made a day of it. The buffet was O.K. but used to be much, much, better!!!! Now to the worst show I have ever, ever, ever saw!! How could a celebrity like Joe bring these people on stage and expect people to not be completely disgusted. It was to be a talant show where was the talent? One 1... Rosie could not carry a tune and is all she needed was a pole!! The comedian was a joke but not at all funny just stupid. "Tex" should just sing to his son and not push it on others. The man with the song he wrote did a good job writing but he should get a singer to sing it. The 3 female singers were very good but they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, everyone was so disgusted not just us but all the people around us. And I thought I was going to see and hear Joe as it was his show, he did nothing on his own. And shame on the Sands and Joe for having a 13 and 16 year old on stage for what should have been an adult evening...plus allowing an 8 year old in the audience!!! I don"t know if we can ever give the Sands another chance. I apologized to my friend all the way home!!

I received a post card for a Comp room for 2 days in the mail
and made reservations for the 4th and 25th of March 2004. When
I checked in at ll:30 on the 4th, I got in the wrong line I guess
I thought that I was a VIP but found out differently. The woman at the
desk Stephanie, was very rude. She said we did not belong in this line, but she took us anyway.
She then told us that there was no rooms available in the Sands Hotel, we had to go to the Madison Hotel., room 459 and it was a mess.
She was very rude, and kept taking care of people behind us in line, leaving us waiting. I don't believe her that The Sands hotel was full, because the garage was not full. Im a diamond at Showboat and will stay there.

After reading the current reviews, I realized that I was not the only one taken with the Madison House. I too reserved a room for 4 nights at the SANDS not the Madison House. I requested a King size bed and a non-smoking room. We were give a double bed and the room reaked of smoke. The room size was very small and could barely turn around. The Sands then put us in the Madison House - our toilet too did not flush and when I called to report the broken ice machine I was told to go up to next floor and use that one. I insisted that they send someone to fix the one on my floor. They eventually came and fixed the ice machine and our toilet, however we were not given any discount on the room. It was August and the other hotels were pretty much booked at least the rooms we would have been able to afford. We will NEVER stay at the Sands again.

The buffetwas terrible. The room had no ironing board and iron. The casino was empty the whole time I stayed there. I will not be back at the Sands.

Stayed in the Sands after a huge fight to get in there!! We found a great rate on a web site and called to get the rate - was told it was an "old site" but after much negotiating, they agreed to give us the rooms for 2 nights. When we got there, we were told it was at the Madison House! My husband and I were there with my parents - dad has a walker - we did not want to stay at the Madison House - that was a HUGE, HUGE argument at the front desk - We won and they gave us (not great) rooms at the Sands. However, nobody can stay at the Sands anymore unless they "invite you". You can NOT call and make a reservation, I was told - if you do, they put you in the Madison House. During our stay, on the second day, they changed the lock combinations because they apparently "forgot" we were still there - so we had to stay in the hall and send somebody down to the front desk to get new keys - not really convenient for seniors... I guess to get invited to stay at the Sands, you have to lose a LOT of money.. Also, I agree with the other comments about the elevators - they are extremely slow - and there is a really long wait and when they do come, they are already full of people!!

We recently stayed at the Sands with my mother and I thought that it was a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean the staff was friendly. The only complaint we had was the elevators were very slow and hard to get. I would definately stay again in fact my husband and I are thinking about going for our anniversary.

We have stayed at the sands for years, until the Madison House came into play.Yes, you sent me a dicounted room as you had done so frequently in the past--but this time at the Madison House. My first room there was a real treat, beds unmade with at least a dozen beer bottles strewn around. We presented ourselves at the front desk--baggage in hand to hear profuse apologies,so we tried once again. The second room was even a better treat. The toilet was overflowing with someone's morning goodies in it.As an appeasement we were give two tickets to the epic buffet--butwho could eat after our last treat.Needless to say we were accomodated at the sands-it was the last resort. You now refuse to book us at the sand--it's the Madison House or nothing.I guess we just don't lose enough.I would appreciate a response to this, however,I doubt that I will receive one.Weloved the sands, but that's the breaks.

my husband and i were in atlantic city this weekend for the first time in about 4 years. recentaly we have been going to foxwoods in ct. , because we live in ct. we went first to the sands, because that used to be our favorite place. i was soooo disappointed. it was dirty, the staff was not friendly and inviting, and the food at the buffet was without a doubt the worse i had ever eaten. needless to say, we didn't stat there, and i don't see any reason why we should expect to stay there in the future.

I stayed at the sands about a year ago. It was a pretty basic hotel; I ended up spending most of my time elsewhere. I guess it was decent, but I would not go back again.
