Hotel Review for Beau Rivage: Poker Room (3 stars)

While I did not actually stay at the hotel, I did drive down for a couple of days to play poker in the Beau Rivage's new poker room. I thought that the room was extremely comfortable and the staff was friendly, but the play was pretty loose. I cannot whine about the frequent suckouts, for that is the nature of the game. Just be sure to bring enough money to cushion the initial blows. This was the first card room I've ever played in that had no cap on the buy in for the $1/2 NL table, and money could be brought to the table at any point in the game (between hands). I don't think that this is the best policy for a low stakes game, which quickly turns into a high stakes game after one or two bad beats. I will return to the casino but with a higher bankroll....Playing perfect poker for 4 hours and losing it all with aces preflop to kings kinda sucks when you don't have the money to buy back in!
