Hotel Review for Rio Suite Hotel and Casino: Rotten Rio - Car valets steal chunks of guests' cars. Casino management then gives guests the run-around. (1 stars)

After staying three days at the Rio, when I got my car back from the valets, the whole chunk of my dashboard with the air conditioner and radio had been ripped out. It had to have been an inside job. There was no evidence of forced entry like a broken window or hacked car locks. The valets were the only one’s with the keys for 72 hours.

I was obviously a little upset, but the staff did all they could to not allow me to speak to the hotel manager. They gave me the run around, and shoved me in the back of Sports Grill with some complimentary meal tickets. Needless to say, I was not hungry. When an hour had passed and I went to find out what the status was from the Rio’s "investigation" of the parking lot security tapes, I was led by the security supervisor to a back room where I was detained for half an hour with another Rio security member standing guard.

The security supervisor then told me there was no tape, gave me a lot of canned answers about how sorry they were, finally took the report (now 3 hours later), then told me I would have to go down to the police station to personally fill out the report. In effect, the Rio did everything they could to scoot me out the door.

I filed the report mostly for insurance reasons since I knew that the police clerk would tell me there was not much they could do, which she did.

The thing that really makes the Rio look shady is that even as a paying registered guest of the hotel, not only did they not take care of my car, not only did they give me the run around and try to suggest that I was responsible for what happened, they did everything they could to get rid of me.
